Ongoing : – MEJC/PTP 2014 (III – Round, EF/HELVETAS NEPAL)
Under 3rd round procurement of EF, skill training has been started from Jan 2015 consisting of two components i.e. Micro Enterprising for Job Creation (MEJC) – 40 Youths and Path to Prosperity (PTP) – 100 Youths. Skills training for both components are for 390 hrs. followed by job placement and entrepreneur establishment. It offers training for economically very poor and socially discriminated youths to ensure their entry into the labor market immediately after short- term market oriented skills training. Under MEJC component, it facilitates youths who want to establish enterprises of their own creating additional jobs under Micro Enterprising for Job Creation. In this round, 140 participants are involved in skill training in total on various occupations (Tailoring, B. Electrician, Alm. Fabricator, Plumbing, Furniture maker, Beautician).

Employment Fund (EF) is a fund jointly established by Swiss Development Committee (SDC), Department For International Development (DFID) and HELVETAS Nepal and funded by SDC, DFID and World Bank and managed and administered by Employment Fund Secreteriat(EFS). Under 1st round procurement of EF which has been recently accomplished on Dec 2014, the program consists of two components i.e. Micro Enterprising for Job Creation (MEJC) and Path to Prosperity (PTP). Skills training for both components were for 390 Hrs followed by job placement and entrepreneur establishment. It offers training for economically very poor and socially discriminated youths to ensure their entry into the labor market immediately after short- term market oriented skills training. Under MEJC component, it facilitates youths who want to establish enterprises of their own creating additional jobs under Micro Enterprising for Job Creation. In this round, 200 participants were trained in total on various occupations (Tailoring, B. Electrician, Alm. Fabricator, Plumbing, Furniture maker, Beautician, steel Fabricator etc.).

Following outcomes were achieved:-
Component 1: MEJC
• 40 trainees were trained
• 36 trainees appeared in NSTB skill test
• 25 trainees passed the NSTB skill test
• 34 graduates established their own enterprise
• 100% job creation during join verification
• Additional job creation ratio was 1:1.32

Component 2: PTP
• 160 trainees were trained
• 159 trainees appeared in NSTB skill test
• 138 trainees past the NSTB skill test
• 94 graduates found gainfully employed after joint verification
